IFSEC 2017 welcomes CEDIA as its Smart Home Training Provider

IFSEC International, Europe’s most prominent security event, is delighted to announce an exciting new training opportunity in conjunction with CEDIA® - the international trade association for the smart home industry.

The growth of smart homes is an area of great appeal to the IFSEC visiting customers with over 24% of this year’s pre-registered audience currently stating a direct interest in the subject so, we’re pleased to be able to align visitor expectations with a key training opportunity.

CEDIA will be providing a series of bespoke training sessions at this year’s IFSEC event at London’s ExCeL, whereby visitors can be introduced to the rapidly advancing area of smart home technology. IFSEC is an ideal environment for introducing smart home training in view of the core role a security system plays in the overall integrated smart home proposition. Integrated access control, video surveillance and intruder detection are all major aspects of the smart building so IFSEC’s rich array of products delivers an excellent connection to the broader smart home world.

The training will provide installers and integrators with opportunities to gain a deep understanding of fully integrated smart home solutions and they can provide a significant complement to a security system. In essence it takes their business offering to an entirely different level.

These 90 minute training sessions will take place in South Gallery Suite 8 at ExCeL on 20th and 21st of June:

20th June:

  • Introduction To Smart Home Technology
  • IP Networking for the Smarthome
  • WiFi Tips & Tricks For The Modern Home
  • Intro to Audio, Video & Home Entertainment

21st June:

Participation in the CEDIA training also qualifies visitors to complimentary registration to attend the IFSEC exhibition.

Matt Nimmons, Managing Director of CEDIA states: ‘’CEDIA provides industry-leading education those who are interested in becoming experts in smart home technologies. We’re pleased to be working with IFSEC this year to share expertise and guidance with the visitors. There is a tangible link between the integration of security systems with the broader smart home proposition and CEDIA sees IFSEC as an effective platform to broadcast the wider message to a new and engaged audience of security professionals.’’

Gerry Dunphy, Brand Director of IFSEC International says: “The market trend towards home automation and smart building technology is clearly apparent and our customer research has shown that training and development in this area is critical. We’re delighted to be working with CEDIA on this new initiative as it provides our customers with an exclusive opportunity to learn from the experts. They have told us smart buildings are a major area of interest so we’re effectively reacting to what they require from the show.’’
