Future Armoured Vehicles Situational Awareness - 14/01/2016

Selex, General Dynamics and Rheinmetall showcase AV Situational Awareness Strategies Next March in London

SMi’s conference on Future Armoured Vehicles Situational Awareness will take place on 16th-17th March 2016 in London, UK.

FAVSA 2016 will give progressive insights on key programmes, vetronics architectures, the development of advanced sensors, optronics and communication equipment, and more.

Amongst the highlights of Future Armoured Vehicles Situational Awareness 2016 will be 3 exclusive addresses by leading industry figures within the field.

1.     Vetronics Architecture Explained by Selex ES: In a presentation entitled "One Glass, One Headset & Many Situations," Mr Guy Davies, Capability Manager of Vehicle Systems and Optronics at Selex ES, highlights the implications of a standardised human machine interface on board the military vehicle. With a focus on Vetronics Architecture, the presentation will explore multiple information streams as well as discuss the latest development in vehicle-agnostic mission systems.

2.     Look Ahead into Future Mission Systems with Rhienmetall Defence: Vice President of Technology Strategies and Mission Equipment at Rhienmetall, Dr Norbert Harle, explains the role of modular open architectures for efficient system integration and enhanced mission effectiveness. Through a case study on LAVOSAR, the presentation will discuss key developments in open architecture and will provide insight into the next generation of future mission systems.

3.     General Dynamics Provide Strategic Guidance into Programmatic and Architectural Alignment: Director of C4 Ground Mission Systems and Strategic Products, Mr Darren Lock, presents key considerations behind the development and delivery if an open future tactical C4I architecture design. The address entitled "Opportunities and Challenges Presented by the Alignment of the MORPHEUS and AJAX Programmes" explores benefits to be gained and the impact on current and future land platform programmes.
